Eating pure, safe food is one of our basic rights, yet even these well-known food brands are undermining this right. To protect people from this, Food Pharmer has been working tirelessly. Revant Himatsingka, also known as Food Pharmer, is an Indian health advocate widely known for spreading awareness among people about the unethical practices of many well-known companies. In other words, he campaigns against misleading food practices.
Revant Himatsingka (Food Pharmer) career
He began his career as a writer and consultant. Later, after one of his videos went viral in 2023, he gradually shifted his livelihood toward social media. This step was highly risky, but he handled it with honesty and determination, which deserves appreciation. In his first viral video, he criticised the high sugar content in Bournvita.
Despite being his first major video, this awareness campaign received significant praise. Many celebrities were also seen sharing it. He has exposed several food companies, including products from the famous Nestlé company, such as Maggi, KitKat, and Cerelac. He has also spoken against products that indirectly promote unhealthy lifestyles and heart disease. His main goal has been to make ordinary people aware of clean eating habits and the importance of reading food labels.
With this purpose, he started a campaign called “Label Padhega India.” He has been running this campaign completely independently with his own money. Recently, he launched a food-based startup called “Only What Is Needed.” It is known that even the name of the startup was finalised through votes from the common people. As a result, he has become highly popular among his audience for these reasons as well.
He also combines comedy with his awareness campaigns, enjoyable and engaging for viewers. However, although his path is noble, it has not been free from obstacles. Many companies have filed cases against him, questioned his claims, and tried in different ways to stop his work. But he has not stopped and continues to move forward toward a greater purpose.
