US Central Command posted on its official Twitter account, clarifying Donald J Trumps statment of naval blockade starting from April 13. USA forces enforce the blockade on vessels from all countries departing to or exiting from Iranian ports and coastal areas, including ports on the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Concerns over the closure of both the Hormuz and Bab Al-Mandab straits.
“TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on April 13 at 10 a.m. ET, in accordance with the President’s proclamation.
The blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports.
Additional information will be provided to commercial mariners through a formal notice prior to the start of the blockade. All mariners are advised to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and contact U.S. naval forces on bridge-to-bridge channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz approaches.”
Trump shares on Truth Social, “The US Navy would begin blockading all ships attempting to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz. Vessels that had paid an ‘illegal toll’ to Iran in international waters would be interdicted. American forces would also destroy Iranian mines in the strait, and any Iranian personnel firing on US or peaceful vessels will be BLOWN TO HELL!” This all began after Iran rejected the USA’s terms at a joint meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Any attempt by the United States to impose a naval blockade is doomed to failure.
This was stated by Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), CNN reports.
China’s Minister of Defence, Admiral Dong Jun, also added, “We are commited for peace & stability in the world. We are monitoring the situation in the Middle East. Our ships are moving in and out of the waters of Strait of Hormuz. We have trade & energy agreements with Iran. We will respect & honour them and expect others to not meddle in our affairs. Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and it is open for us.”
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Parliament, was involved in the USA and Iran-mediated conversation in Islamabad, posted on Twitter, mocking the situation. Fuel prices will soon skyrocket, and America will also feel the pressure, and soon $4 -$5 per gallon gas prices will feel nostalgic.
After a period of relief for some days from the ceasefire, this step from the USA surely raises tension again in the market, which might result in increasing oil prices, inflation, and instability
