Six Hindus were killed in Bangladesh in the last 18 days. Minorities are lynched and killed in every district of Bangladesh. And it has become more common in recent years, especially after the fall of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the interim government took power. The interim government of Md Youns continues to deny the incident of planned religious killings, hiding the culprits behind his back.
If the government organises a poll, they can’t even choose the lesser of two evils. If they decide to vote for BNP, they will be persecuted by Jamaat, and if they vote for Jamaat, BNP will turn furious at them. According to Hindus, they are being treated as “football”. Political and religious leaders are openly instructing people to vandalise Hindu temples and houses. Islamist groups use hate and twisted speech, anti-India propaganda to mobilize and target the Hindu community. Hindus in Bangladesh were labeled as Indian agents and asked to leave Bangladesh.
Forceful conversion, unethically grabbing lands, torturing Hindu housewives, girls, and women are new normal things in this interim government. Hindus have often been targeted with allegations of blasphemy for a long time. Frequently, Islamic mobs use fake social media profiles to create fake posts targeting Hindus with forced allegations and kill them, as the recent cases indicate that too.
