Yesterday, a video was published on social media by TMC of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party Chief Humayun Kabir, of an alleged connection with the BJP in a 1000 Cr deal. Friday (10th April), in a press conference about the Viral Video,
A reporter asked, “The nomination ended yesterday. Today, you have released the manifesto. In the meantime, a video has been released by the Trinamool Congress regarding Humayun Kabir. It is being said that the BJP gave ₹1,000 crore to Humayun Kabir so that the election could be polarised. The names of two Chief Ministers have been mentioned in this matter. What does the BJP have to say about this?”
Home Minister Amit Shah said, “You may be unaware of Mamata Ji’s capabilities; she is capable of producing 2000 such videos. Humayun Kabir and the BJP are like the South Pole and the North Pole—we can never align. We would rather sit in the opposition for another 20 years than sit alongside those who built the Babri Masjid in Bengal.”
On Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on his alleged viral video, Aam Janata Unnayan Party Chief Humayun Kabir says,
“Mamata Banerjee is conspiring against me. She mentions my name and speaks wherever she goes. Common people will respond to her. Mamata Banerjee will not come to power in the 2026 elections…The video shows it to be 19th December and me sitting in a flat, but I had never stayed the night in that flat…The video was made on AI, shows it to be after 8 pm, and a YouTube channel which opened on 8th April posted it as its first video…I will file a case against them in the High Court. Judiciary will respond to them…I will defeat Mamata Banerjee and not let the communal BJP come to power in West Bengal.”
TMC leader Firhad Hakim also stated on the viral video
“… This (alleged video of Humayun Kabir) cannot be AI-generated. Now he has been caught, and because of that, today his head has been lowered in front of the entire society, not just the Muslim community, but all communities. For us, religion is a way to purify the soul. We cannot even imagine that someone could play with the religious emotions of people in such a big way.”
