Restaurant owner Harman Singh and his wife, Kush, are being deliberately harassed for putting up a ‘proudly non-halal sign’. “I won’t be intimidated. We are losing business, but we will not lose our country to these people.”
Harman Singh Kapoor, who runs a restaurant in West London that mainly serves Indian Food, has been arrested by London police for displaying a sign indicating that halal food is not for sale. The restaurant owner refused to serve halal meat due to his religious beliefs against ritual slaughter. This incident sparked outrage in the Muslim crowd. Harman and his family are openly getting death threats, vandalism, and forced fake reviews of his restaurants. The restaurant’s owner announced the closure of the 16 year old restaruant, outrage, deliberate attacks, and slow police response.
Harman posted a video declaring that he will use his kirpan for protection, saying he no longer fears killing threats. Police arrested him hours later for possession of a weapon with intent, although Kripan is religiously exempted. As no protesters were arrested despite giving death threats to the restaurant owner, the supporter called it the administration’s bigotry. Let’s see how the London judiciary system responds to this.
